The eMBODYment of Jewish Femininity

The emBODYment of Jewish femininity is a photography exhibit that explores the connection of 15 different women to their bodies. The photos were taken in nature or in an environment where the women felt most comfortable in their own bodies. Narratives accompany each photograph, which range from a teen in remission from cancer to a woman in her eighties who spends her days taking dance classes at the 92nd Street Y.

Imperfect: A Story of Body Image

Imperfect: A Story of Body Image is the fourth in a series of graphic novels written by young adults for their peers, and published by Anthony Zuiker, former Executive Producer of the CSI television show series, and co-owner of Zuiker Press.

Aviva was asked to contribute her knowledge and expertise for the “High 5”, a section at the end of the graphic novel with five parent take-aways about body image.

Dounya, a Muslim girl living in Las Vegas, Nevada, shares her very personal story of battling eating disorders when she was a teenager, in order to help other young people suffering from this affliction.
